![]() ![]() We will feature art by the participating artist's own inspirations, live music and a 6-tap take-over lead by official beer sponsor MobCraft Beer. Happening on February 7th 2015 from Noon-6pm, this year's pour might be our biggest event yet ! With the help of many amazing local collaborators, we now have an official After Party celebration to follow the day's iron pouring event. The day long event has it all: live music, cash bar, molten metal and an after party inside the Garver Feed Mill next door to Olbrich Gardens, where this whole shee-bang takes place. We have community workshops over a month in advance of the big event to jump into if you are feeling frisky. Free and open to the public to come and watch, and over a month of workshops to choose from, the spectacle will be hotter than ever as we prepare to light up our furnace inside the gardens’ grounds and kickoff their 2020 Elements theme celebration with an open house for the new Learning Center on site.įeLion Studios collaborates with some of the Midwest's best metal artists, makers and local businesses in order to melt and cast hot iron all day during the region's coldest season. The 2020 PYHO iron pour is “going to 11” this year, as our radical indoor/outdoor winter event hits the 11th annual landmark, and it’s being held at the beautiful Olbrich Botanical Gardens, on the Great Lawn inside the property. Registration is FREE, but still required for this event. You'll have to just come visit me to see what it's all about :} Below are the details of the 1st annual Design Wisconsin event, where I'll be making waffles & talking shop with patrons of the industrial design field. I'm debuting a new commercial waffle maker product that has been in the works for over 2 years, and is fulfilling a dream idea of mine that started when I was an undergrad in art school. It is a little known secret that Wisconsin is a hub for product innovation, and Design Wisconsin is created to make new connections inside this long lived industry, showcasing Wisconsin based businesses and their proudest new works inside a weekend of geeking out over new potentials.Ī sampling of businesses showcasing their works will be Kohler Co., Milwaukee Tool, Trek, Mercury Marine, Oshkosh Corp., Presto and so many more! We consulted expert and consumer reviews, and narrowed down our list to include the widest range of top-rated options available, from reputable companies. This mini-tradeshow event is open to any aspiring Industrial Designers, Design students, businesses in manufacturing and makers looking for resources to bring their ideas to life. We considered all of the most common paper-cutting needs, and sifted through hundreds of options. We made a note of safety mechanisms and concerns. Keep in mind that some of the more powerful cutters on our list would not be ideal for families with small children running around. But there are a number of other types, including rotary (with a sliding blade), stack (which can cut through 400 papers at once), and electric (this can also cut through hundreds of papers, but requires a plug in).ĭIY craft lovers are going to need a much different size and type of cutter than a busy office or teacher we noted best uses. A guillotine (a long arm that you move up and down) is the most common type of paper cutter on the market. Keep the following in mind for the best cutter for you.Įach type of paper cutter has a different style and purpose. They also have features that may be convenient, necessary, or completely superfluous depending on your needs. Paper cutters come in all types, shapes, and sizes. We take the guesswork out of the search, below. Still, there are several types of paper cutters on the market, which makes picking the right one for you even more important and challenging. But for committed crafters, scrapbookers, technical workers, artists, and teachers, a paper cutter is an essential tool, and produces (potentially) a much more precise cut, quickly, than a pair of scissors ever could. Paper cutters can cut both ways: A really good one will make a project much more streamlined, and the end product more attractive, but a so-so cutter will add time and result in a sub-par product. ![]()
